Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund
The Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund (VBAF) was established to provide either grants or loans to local governments to promote the restoration and redevelopment of brownfield sites and to address environmental problems or obstacles to reuse so that these sites can be effectively marketed to new economic development prospects.
Applications for FY17 VBAF Site Assessment and Planning Grants are currently being accepted on an ongoing basis. The Virginia General Assembly has allocated at least $1,500,000 from the general fund for FY17 site remediation grants. Applications for FY17 VBAF Site Remediation Grants will be accepted beginning July 1 through October 1, 2016.
